Will I be having anymore babies?

People often ask me if I want to have anymore babies....I always reply "no, we don't want anymore"....That is the short answer just to shut people up.....

The long answer is Yes, I would love another child but don't want to have one.....

First up there would be the getting pregnant....Obviously I would have to get the contraceptive implant removed which would mean a return to the heavy, painful periods which could last a week and a half until I fell pregnant....While I've had the implant in I rarely have periods.....If I do they last a couple of days and are barely there.....

Secondly you all know the story about my girls and myself having heart defects....Our CHD Story Part One & Part Two We all have heart problems which resulted in both my girls having open heart surgery.....The specialists at the hospital have said that if I have another girl it's almost sure that she would have a heart problem too.....The problems my girls had were easy to fix....We might not be so lucky next time.

It has been said that if I have a boy he might be ok and have no heart problems but it really isn't worth the risk.....If I had another I would be under the care of the Freeman hospital which is 2 hours away....Bus journeys while being pregnant are no fun!

Also what would I do with a boy.....I know nothing about boys....lol Little boys scare me....I'm so used to having just girls...

Then there would be the giving birth.....I have a Bicornuate uterus and run the risk of the baby being breech....After having two c-sections I would need another so I'm told...The thought of one terrifies me....

When I had Ellie it all went wrong....The spinal shot they'd put in my back started to wear off....I could feel them pulling, cutting and whatever they were doing!! Not just the sensation of them doing stuff the actually feeling and it did not feel good at all....They were filling me with drugs but I was just passing in and out of consciousness so I'm told....I just remember panicking, being in pain and a really strange taste in my mouth...Metallic...I'm still to this day not sure what that was....When the surgeons were convinced I could feel something (I think they thought I was just panicking for no reason) They said if they need to could they put me under I would of agreed to anything to stop the pain....More drugs were pumped into me and they were finished before they had to knock me out....It was the worst experience of my life....The panic and the pain....I could not go through that again....

My girls have got to the age now where they are pretty self sufficient....They can dress themselves, go to the toilet without me wiping their butts, feed themselves and sleep through the night.....Would I really want to go back to poop, sleepless nights and babies....

So unless someone has a baby for me or the stork brings one there will be no new additions to this household....If you look at me and think I'm pregnant I'm actually not I'm just fat....hahaha

  2. I had no idea you'd been through so much to have your daughters - hardly surprising that you don't wish to fall pregnant again!

  3. Most people in my family are adamant that I will have 3 children. I had my first 2 fairly young and I'm still quite young now. My two are an handful at the best of times and a few years ago I'd of said maybe, except the fact my partner doesn't want anymore, now, I think 2 is enough. I have a boy and a girl and I'd really like to see them grow, develop and have some me time, like getting a career etc x

  4. Fab post, people always ask me this question too. It sounds like you had a hard time (having had 2 sections the idea of being able to feel it it terrifying) so I can't blame you for not wanting to be pregnant again! X

  5. It is a funny thing thinking that you won't have any more children isn't it? I would love another but also have a list of reasons why it isn't practical. I can understand why you wouldn't want to have another one.

  6. This is a question that's been plaguing me lately. Always said just one, but now I'm not so sure. With all the medical reasons and past experiences for you, it makes sense that you have decided to stop. A stork sure would be nice!

  7. I can totally relate to this as I don't want to be pregnant or have another c section again, and my c section sounds nowhere near as traumatic as yours was! Especially understandable with the heart problems too, just a bit too scary to think about! Xx

It's funny that some people say that c-sections are the easy option! If only they knew half of it x

  8. People actually started asking me if I was having anymore whilst I was pregnant with Boo! I am not really sure of the answer, what with HG and everything else. I can totally understand your reasoning, oh yes for a stork!! Hehe

  10. If you are happy with your family the way it is then good for you, your girlies seem lovely.
You are right for little boys to scare you lol, you always run that risk of being shot in the head with a nerf gun, or farted on or being crippled barefoot by those mini army soldiers lol, i wouldn't change them for the world though x

  11. I get asked this all of the time and my baby is only seven months old. For us i think three children is enough but sometimes i do get broody and think i would like one more in a few years time, but i may be too old then. I was so unsure of having my boy after two girls and at first i had no idea what to do with him and every time i changed his nappy he peed on me! but now i love having a boy and he is much more placid then either of my girls were. Your c-section sounds awful that would put me of ever having another baby for sure xx
